About Argyll Walking Holidays, as the name suggests, started in Argyll in Scotland. Since 1995 we have run high-quality, essentially personal walking tours and hiking vacations, building up a reputation for care and quality. Deliberately small-scale, we have created a community of our client group, many of whom quickly become friends.

We offer guided and self-guided walking / hiking holidays in beautiful but undiscovered parts of West Scotland. We explore the hills, the lochs, boundless seascapes and islands. During the walks you can enjoy historical, natural or geological themes, the solitude of secret places and the pure pleasure of walking.

Activities offered

Walking tours
A combination of walking, and visiting places of interest. Daily distances will never exceed 6 miles (10 km).

Walking holidays
These are designed for people who are fit and used to walking for long periods. We will walk up to 11 miles (17 km) per day with on average 1000ft/300m ascent.

Private guided itineraries
Tailor-made private guided walking / hiking itineraries for up to 16 people can be arranged. They can be drawn up for anywhere in Scotland: Highlands & Islands, Shetland, Dumfries & Galloway, The Borders.

Self-guided walking holidays
The Cowal Way: 57 miles (92 km) trail that links the Kintyre Way and West Highland Way.

We run activities for

Adults: individuals and groups
During our scheduled holidays you will hike in a small international group (8 maximum) and our well-qualified, well-informed and enthusiastic guide will look after you.

We take private groups of up to 16 people.

Location

Our scheduled holidays are in the west Highlands and Islands of Scotland, Galloway, Shetland and the Isle of Arran. We have holidays in Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, on the isles of Islay and Mull and on The Small Isles.

All our holidays start and end in Glasgow.

Carefully selected comfortable accommodation - we book and arrange this for you, taking care to find a B&B, guest house or hotel that is individual in character and offers good food, comfort and a friendly welcome.
